The ability to see the beauty…
People tend to complain about their lives. They often underestimate what they have, lack real happiness and rarely appreciate things happening to them. Adolescents want to grow up quickly, while the elderly miss their youth. So what truly is our happiness? Some people think that the teenage years are the happiest times of most people’s lives. Others think that adulthood brings more happiness.
Every age has its upsides and downsides. Particularly people always have their responsibilities, though sometimes they are less serious. A teenager can be carefree, parents take care of everything and they take responsibility for the things their child does. Youth is a time of countless adventures, making dreams come true, developing and broadening the mind. However, it is not that simple. A teenager often has many problems. He faces loads of demands – school grades, homework, parents ambitions, peer pressure etc. At the same time a young person is not fully aware of their abilities or personality, what is more they cannot always understand what is wrong with their body or mind. Their behaviour is often unpredictable, uncertain or even irrational and there is the constant struggle with pimples, acne, weight issues and so on. That is why teenagers have low self-esteem, do not believe in themselves. Teenagers lack knowledge, experience and stability. Yet, there is a kind of light-heartedness in their obliviousness.
Adults are allowed to do what they want unlike adolescents. They have many opportunities such as travelling, making a career, having a job and a family. Nobody assesses them or questions the things they do. Their life is more stable, seems to be more mature and important. In fact, there are plenty of duties they face, however, I think they can deal with them. Sometimes it is not that easy but still things can get better. The bigger problem, when it comes to adults, is their inability to smile or laugh. They do not take pleasure in life. One can say that they have little time, they are always in rush but they simply cannot live another way. It is very important to find time to relax, spend time with family and most of all to have a hobby, to constantly develop and to have dreams. These aspects are crucial in our lives. Enjoy your life now no matter what. Franz Kafka once said: ‘Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.’
